Lake Osborne Estates Water Main Phase I Project
Year: 2019
Client: City of Lake Worth, 301 College Street, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460
Water Main Improvements
Work was performed on furnishing materials, equipment, and labor to construct the proposed water main-related improvements, as shown in the Engineering Drawings and described in the Specifications.
The Phase I service area is comprised of approximately 250 residences served by existing water mains varying in size from3″ to 12″. Most existing water mains and water services are located in the rear of the properties and are past their useful life expectancy.
The CITY has directed that these existing water mains (and meters) be replaced with upsized water mains (as necessary) and moved to the frontage of the homes within the existing road right of way. Approximately 14,000 LF of new water main will be proposed within the Phase I project area.
The existing water mains at the rear of the properties (including ACP water mains) will be capped and abandoned in place. The CITY has also indicated that any existing galvanized cast iron or asbestos cement (ACP) water mains should be replaced.
Any existing ACP water mains within the right-of-way areas will be capped, grout-filled, and abandoned in place. Since the right-of-way areas are owned and maintained by Palm Beach County, all restoration required as part of the proposed improvements must meet Palm Beach County requirements.
