Pump Stations

A pump station (pumping station or sewage pumping station), is a storage and collection chamber that lifts and distributes wastewater or sewage when it cannot naturally be carried by gravity.

Pumping stations include pumps and equipment for pumping fluids from one place to another. They are used for various infrastructure systems, such as the supply of water to canals, the drainage of low-lying land, and the removal of sewage to processing sites.

When low-lying land areas are drained, the general method is to dig drainage ditches. However, if the area is below sea level, it is necessary to pump the water into the sea.
